VW Corrado v Audi Coupe
Similar weight and dimensions, but assuming you had an RS4 engine going spare, then which one would be the better chassis to plonk it in?
Audi has the advantage in that it was designed for 4wd...
I've driven both, but it was a looooong time ago!

tough call. Corrado looks much better but the audi is a lot more subtle. There are loads of corrados with big engines, but ive never noticed audi
coupes tuned up.

Corrado.
Why go to all the effort of stuffing an RS4 engine into an Adi Coupe when you could have just bought and tweeked an S2.
Plus, the Corrado looks so much better as well and has a flip up spoiler for added pointless shininess.
ETA
Would the Audi likely be a quattro? That might change my mind a little bit...

Audi's seem to be a bit cheaper to get hold off (few hundred quid)... don't really care about cosmetic condition - it would all be getting
stripped back anyway (if indeed it happens!).
PS - the car photo's are just randoms off t'interweb.

my problem with the corrado is that, whilst it is a nice car and something you would be pleased to look after, its still a bit of a boy racers car,
and needs a few more years to mature to a classic (which it defiantely will do). IMHO.

I had one and it was fantastic
The only problem i had with mine was that i didnt fit in it 
If you get one it MUST be the blue one that flips to purple, standard from the factory but its the best colour

Can anyone remember how wide the trans-tunnel is (that would be my main concern as it's a front wheel drive and I'd want to convert to
RWD).

I'm bound to say, "whichever is most likely to be able to be completed".
That means the B4 platform car then does it not ?
There's loads of examples of 80s with V8s in them, so it was meant to be really.
Corrado is engineering from the ground up.
An Audi 80 B4 badged up as a TDI is your car.
With steelies and hub caps...

Designed for 4WD.
Galvanised body.
Cheap and plentiful.
Path most travelled.
Audi 80 Coupe Neg's
Not as pretty.
VW Corrado Pro's
Better looking.
Better chassis.
VW Corrado Neg's
Boy Racer Image.
Designed for front wheel drive.

Mine was only the 2L 16V though
They did fit a V6 but i wanted the G60 Supercharged one
There is a great culture with corrado owners as well
I had to mind curbs with those rear wheels

The issue with all of the Audi Quattros of that period is that the majority of the engine is in front of the axle. It was only the B8 platform when
this was less of a problem. The B7 RS4 was further back than the B5 but it was still an issue.
I would assume you would struggle to get a V8 in a Corrado without major surgery....not sure it would go in a S2 either.

It'll go into the 80 Coupe... been done plenty of times before.
I know what you mean about the engine being far forward though - the thought had crossed my mind too.
Having said that, the ali B7 RS4 engine doesn't weight a great deal more than the 4 pots originally found in the Coupe and it weighs less than
the V6's.
