Q: You are driving along a narrow two lane road with a NO PASSING FOR 2 MILES sign posted, and you come upon a bicycle rider. Do you:

(a) Follow this slow-moving bicycle rider for the next 2 miles , or

(b) Do you break the law and pass?

B

You can break any road markings / signage prohibiting passing to pass a slow moving vehicle legally. I think the law defines slow moving as 10MPH.

Who would know? I may be wrong but I would not be entirely convinced that the no passing would apply to a motorcycle providing it was safe to pass. They are expected to maintain a position near the kerb to allow overtaking afterall.

"Double white lines where the line nearest
you is solid.
This means you MUST NOT cross or
straddle it unless it is safe and you need to
enter adjoining premises or a side road.
You may cross the line if necessary,
provided the road is clear, to pass a
stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal
cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if
they are travelling at 10mph (16 km/h) or
less"

hmm, it'll be a bit of a bummer if it were me on the bike as even I can go faster than 10 mph on the flat.

That thong is virtually skin colour!!!

Overtaking would be treated the same as a double white, which it is perfectly legal to cross if you have to. It's a fact that rules are made for the obediance of fools, and the guidance of wise men.

Wish they had spell check on here, Cheers Ray
