Hi All

New to the site so thought I would say hello!

I have a fisher fury which I didn't build but have done everything else to it since including new engine etc. Its not a BEC and instead has the torquey pinto engine which I have running with forced induction via a RST turbo and mangement but run through twin 45 dellorto's. There is actually a two pager in July's PPC mag on my car if anyone has a copy!

I will try to post a couple of pics on here as soon as I work out how!

Anyway, looking forward to joining the community!

Sounds like a nice driveable car you have there.

Im sure your input will be much resoected given the host of 'turboing' questions we have had on here over the last few months.

Yep, Jeremy (the god) Phillips - did a great design job! It is rather rapid even on low boost! :-) What you got under your hood?

Power is 152bhp at the rear wheels running 8psi. This is unstressed and bullet proof on this build spec and I hope will lead to long life!

I do have a turbosmart valve (great bit of kit, anyone else use one?) which if I click round on the setting a notch gives me 170bhp at the rear wheels running 11psi.

The BHP is not the impressive thing though its the torque! This really is a brutal overtaking machine and accelerates hard in any gear at any speed.

Your other question, how much speed, I have no idea what it will do but it gets light at front end at 120 ish so don't really ever go much beyond this. It is how quickly it gets there and the effortless torque which is very addictive!

Thanks! I bought a set of wheels off one of the contributors Toby Una and he asked if he could feature the car. Quite nice seeing it in the mag!

You really have one very nice car that someone has built with great care and skill, not to mention the hundreds of hours lavished on it. It really looks the business.

Thank you for the kind words. I not sure I am that skillful, but I have certainly put some hours into rebuilding her to a standard that I am happy with. The engine has been the main focus and I am very pleased with the results.

I had a look over your build site for your Phoenix. Damn fine job you have done there! Its strange seeing a N/A Cossie and is the reverse of what I have done with a blown pinto, which is great. I know one chap on Turbosport forum is very into his ATMO 16v Pinto and has RR printout to prove a very health 250 ish bhp. Have you done any head work, particularly interested in your choice of cams for a non-turbo cossie lump? Also, what CR is it running? Was that achieved by a big 'skim' or have you fitted higher compression pistons? I was also interested in the way you have made the engine cover panel. I need to enclose my turbo and you have inspired me to have a go at what you have done as opposed to making a fiberglass bulge.

Anyway, nice car!

Hi Adrian

My car very nearly had an R1 engine in it to replace the original pinto. I had one bought and sat in the garage for several months but couldn't bring myself to do it in the end as I love a torquey engine! Thats when I went the pinto turbo route instead.

Have you got a build diary?

There were some excellent R1 engined fury build diaries/sites I used to see on the web, will have a look for the links and ping them over. Also, do you follow Tim Hoverds site for his blade fury he races in the RGB championship - top site!

Anyway, good luck with the rest of the build!
