Well Its been another busy weekend in the garage. I've almost finished one of my car ramps that I am building. Just a couple of cross braces to
do, and finalising the welding, as some is still just Tack Welded.
Its meant to be built upside down!. The car is driven up the ramp until the car is completely on the ramp. Then lift the rear up with a Jack to give a
level platform to work from. There will be a couple of bars to link and steady the two ramps.
I will also make a moveable jacking beam so I can lift the car clear of the ramps so I can work on the suspension etc.
Its coming along but a bit slower that I had planned.
The Sloping part is 2.4 metres long, the square part 1.2 metres long and 420mm wide. Each ramp breaks down into two parts, for easier storage and
transport.
Its certainly got to be better than grovelling about on the floor to work on the Viento.
1st One Nearly completed
sorry had to laugh when I saw that!
comedy ramps like that giant mobile phone that guy used on the bus...
some diagonals might be needed here.

Ebay item number 28008538120, sorry mate did not mean to pee on your bonfire
How much time are you thinking of spending under the car
Well...Not too much time under the car.
However, I do plan to have all the suspension bushes out and adjust them as the crush tubes are a bit too short, causing a squeeking suspension /
stiff.
I also have a set of bigger brakes to put on.
Its not the underneath time, although I do plan on changing the sump as I scrape a few of the local traffic calming humps.
The Idea is simply to be able to work at a sensible height on the axles. rather than kneeling on cold hard concrete.
I'm 54 and my knees are giving me trouble already.

Re: Winch...
I already have a 1 ton chain winch so dont need it. However, I also have a V8 "winch" under the bonnet in the car

ewenspence made some similar, but all the pictures have been removed from the threads about them making it somewhat surreal to read.
