Hey just stumbled on the ginetta website

Anyone know if the G4 can even be made road legal? Or if they will sell the kits in parts?

TBH its way out of my price range but it looks like a great little car!

Yes they can be made road legal, and they will probably sell it in sections if you ask them nicely!

I like the Ginetta (now Dare) G4 rather than the GT4...
Shame I wouldn't fit in it as it's rather small (though perfectly formed!!)....
Nice cars- brother's girlfriend has a G20r with a ZX12R (or maybe the 9r- can't remember of the top of my head) bike engine in it... Very nice too it is Heavy(ish) for a BEC but shifts well nonetheless apparantly...

So will they sell it in bits?

Size (of the original G4) here http://www.brooke-kensington.co.uk/pcars1g4.htm

They are approximately MG Midget sized IIRC which feels very small for a hardtop.

As for if they'd sell one as a kit, I guess only they would know.

Not been on here for ages, but lurking once in a while. Reason not been on here is re-finding Ginetta. Most impressed by great engineering and design of all thier cars - nought a rear-engined G15 and now the regalia man for the Gnetta Owners' Club!
If you like the G4 have a look at the G15 or the fantastic mid-engined G12. Original G4's and 12's not exactly "locost" though! New Dare G4s available fully built, or modern interprotation G20 - as sported by jamesg, available as a kit from Ginetta in both open and closed form to take zetec engines. For more check www.ginettacars.co.uk, www.ginetta.org and www.cottageclassics.co.uk. A great book covering the history of the G4 from its design in 1962(!) to the current day is available from the owners club.
The really are amazing cars to work woth and most most importantly drive, and on the whole vary affordable too. Check them out!

Urban myth has it that the original G4 was Jeremy Philips' inspiration for the Fury
