i want to know if anyone can help me, i guess the new mini (bmw) has a completely different wheel fitting to the old mini (i guess its bmw) because i
need to know if the bmw alloys would fit a trailer fitment (they are the same as the old mini fitment).
i did find a site with all wheel fitments etc but have lost it, and thought i might be able to stop a lot of trawling if one of you guys know.
new mini is 5 stud, and very different from the classic mini
um, are you sure? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-BMW-Mini-Works-Style-Alloy-Wheels-with-Tyres-270_W0QQitemZ200043848361QQihZ010QQcategoryZ9888QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also, good luck fitting anything 17" to a proper mini! As said, the old and new patterns, whilst not a million miles different ARE different. Might be able to re-drill the hub, but depends what the application is.
no i wasnt trying to attach 17"ers to a mini!!! its for my caravn project, i need a nice alloy that can attach to a caravan indespension hub, old mini ones will work but there are really only two styles, and im not really a fan of either (if not on a mini) and was basically looking at other options. what is involved when redrilling the hub, as its only a very light caravan and wouldnt need to withstand a lot of weight?
If the hubs are the same pattern as the old mini, there's loads of different wheels out there. In fact I've got some rare ones in the garage
you can have for beer tokens!
As for re-drilling, it's often just a case of getting the drill out and putting 4 new holes in at 45º to the original ones.
Such a small difference in PCD could easily be taken up by wobble bolts. The important thing is to have hub concentricity. If the trailer hub is
smaller than the BMW wheel bore you could make up a ring, otherwise you might be able to turn down the trailer hub.

mini stub axels take the rover 100 hub
did it to my trailer, when i couldnt find tyres
need the drum though, to space off a collar on the hub
i just u2ud diy si about the mini wheels, ive just looked at wobble bolts, they would open the options up greatly if they could be used. ill also look into turning the hub, im doing the project at college so getting to use the machines is not a problem. thanks for the responses so far!
Austin Healy Sprite is also 4 X 4", as are 72-80 Jensen-Healy, if that helps broaden the field any...
Superlite wheels on ebay, from one of the shops, advertised one undrilled you could call them up and see if they have some wheels that you like drilled to suit.
Mine look like this. I meant to get them cleaned up and properly painted, but never got round to it. Can't remember if they are all like this one
or not, this one just happened to be top of the pile in the garage loft space.
