http://local.live.com/ better in birds eye than google earth for a lot of places
Not really. The pictures where I am are at least 5 years old. I'll stick with Google for now.
Picture must be at least 2 years old for me. My gardens missing a really big shed.
I know some of the pictures are old as I still have a 2.5 m sat dish out back.
But the point I am making is they have covered a lot of the areas that google earth still have fuzz pictures.
If you are lucky enough to live in a high def google earth area that`s all well but some of us in Scotland for example GE hasnt got to our areas
yet....................
the images of my area must be at least 5 years out of date as there is a field where my house now stands!
Much better for where I live.
Cheers
Mark
Hmm, there is a red car shown at the back of my house. The last red car I owned was a Mini Chelsea and it met an untimely end almost exactly 10 years ago...
On a sample size of 3 I agree with Mango/Mookaloid.
The picture of my house is much older than Googles - both being high resolution.
Pictures of my parents house and a mate are both blury mush at the town level on google, but have high resolution on local.live (both look to be old
pictures).
So look first on Google, if they don't have high res go to local.live.

Low res google and within the year on msn.
err, dont get it.. no pictures just a cartoon map like most of the route finders,
am I missing summit????
Also dont like the fact it says SUNDERLAND when I'm about 9 miles away from it!
Rescued attachment Hetton.jpg
It's the same for me Coozer. We must both be missing something.
Got it!! At the top click ARIEL for pictures, road for maps!!
At 25 yards images are much better than google and for my back yard more up to date. I can see two backs of sand in teh front garden that I used for
my patio at the back. Thats about 2.5 years ago.

Hmm it comes up in thumbnails after a while and mines is just on the edge of one. It shows my carlton estate so at least 4 years old.
if i consult with my dad, i bet i could pin my area picture to the particular week possibly even day it was taken
its definatley a weekend because ther is no one at work and all the vans are parked up
my grandfathers white granada is still in his drive, my fiesta is in my drive with my dads nubira (which became my donor). it was taken after we
built our big wall but before we sold the big trailer
this is fun

My area of Newcastle is more up to date on this than it is on Google. It shows me having finished the extension, but not started on the Indy yet. So
it must have been taken between 2002 and 2004!
I wasn't at home, I was round at my mother-in-laws, as was my brother in law, cause I can see my car and his van there!
Big brother is watching. Weird.
Mike
nice find - better than google earth since
a) ya donlt need to download any s/w
b) it shows up much better detail
unfortunately the posiiotn of the sun means I cannot see my sankey trailer but can work out the cheap B&Q bench/table before it crumbled away.
Don't need to download anything for google either:
http://maps.google.co.uk
But agreed the maps don't cover as much of the UK.
