Wire rope/cable

I need a long length of wire rope, 1.2mm dia, preferably stainless. I've got a water rocket launcher with a short launch cable which I'm extending and have managed to get the outer from Halfords as they sell it by the metre. They don't sell the inners the same way though and the wire I blagged from work was 1.5mm and won't fit. Anyone know of a wire rope supplier that'll go this small? Alternatively, a supplier of Bowden cable (inner & outer) by the metre please?

As an ex cornish fisherman, use shark trace, very thin, very strong and very flexible, easy to join

What about a piece of 1 mm welding wire?

Would that be a bit small for use on a boat?

It's only a water rocket why do you want to be so far away when you set it off? not afraid of getting a bit wet are you?

No, I'm afraid of a non-test certified pressure vessel with a water/air mix inside pressurised to 10 barG exploding and driving a fragment of whateverthehell plastic pop bottles are made out of into my sons eye as he stands 6 feet from the rocket to launch it
Three to four metres sounds much better to me, don't you agree

i believe one of these is easier to source

b&q stock wire rope on a reel, but don't know if it'd be 1.2mm

Would 2mm be any good ? Got best part of half a reel that I managed to find when looking for something else.
