Need to keep my dogs out of the newly established flower beds.
Does any body have a circuit diagram for a small electric fence?
Not a good plan. Dogs are very sensitive to electric shock and can be killed by normal farm type fences.
they won't get into the flower beds though
depends on your priorities i suppose

What about the chemical stuff that keeps them off (smells really bad to animals).
First relevant google hit I got is here (for an idea of what you can get - doubt they ship to SA )

I used it years ago to keep next doors dog out of our garden (neighbour was plod so I couldn't use more 'imaginative' techniques).
I have neighborhood dogs that come into my yard and tear up the lawn and crap in my yard. They are my next door neighbors and nice people but they
have/take no contriol over their animals (so catching them in the action and throwing the dogs bloodied corpses over the fense is not an option).
I have ben toying with the idea of building a motion sensing self targeting water gun water hose that is motion sensitive....

People too?!!!? Yes people too!!!
My daughter is 2 years old and the foot traffic through my yard makes my wife nervous/scared. If it was just that I would be ok...but someone ditched
a jacket in the lot next to my house....cool jacket I'll take a look at it....looks like it would fit....good for the garage and bumming around
in, until I found a glass pipe in the pocket. I dropped it there and their it still lays a year later...
I never told my wife about it, it would only make her more nervous, but I watch the foot traffic closely and suspiously since.
A robotic self aiming water gun sounds like it could have many benifits.....
I am I crazy? Maybe, crazy about my family...

I would have thought that keeping the pups out of your yard would be the bigger problem living in PE. Used to work for expanda.co.za and you could use
the pool panels to keep the hounds out the garden.
as a more local soloution to your problem.
cheers hope that helps

Used the pool fence - They dug through underneath.
Ussed the smelly stuff - They S..T on it.
Weimeraners - Very cleaver dogs.
They will only be shocked once and then I can leave only the wire there and pack away the electrics.
THANKS
if i had a dog i wouldnt want to give it electric shocks....
might be the RSPCA would see that the same way......
lekky fences are probably for thick skinned animals, not highly conductive wet nosed dogs, having shocks into the brain.

I'm not sure that Port Elizabeth is in the RSPCA’s jurisdiction.
I like dogs, but frustration has lead me to dream about building a giant Trebuchet and putting dog biscuits on the launch pad.

The image is classic.
Sorry, I have an odd sense of humor....I would not recommend that with your dogs Kango.
