Man From Uncle.

I would have been tempted to say The Prisoner for obvious reasons, but I would have been lying.

The Man From Uncle though - that was real. For me anyway.

Im only 14 and iv got 'The Prisoner' on DVD.

I got bought it cos i was interested in caterhams

locogeoff - 28/3/05 at 12:21 AM

OOOO Servilan, she's still got it.

the JoKeR - 28/3/05 at 01:13 AM

I've never seen most of the shows listed, but did get hooked on The Prisoner. It's an almost unheard of series in the US (at least nobody I know has ever heard of it). I actually rented a few episodes because of some interviews with members of Iron Maiden, who mentioned it as an influence in a few of their songs. Now most of the episodes are part of my DVD collection.

Who are you?
The new #2.
Who is #1?
You are #6.
I am not a number, I am a free man!

Then of course there was 'Space 1999' - that shape shifter was a bit of a babe.

There was 'UFO'. There were quite a few babes with tight suits in that.

bob - 28/3/05 at 09:21 AM

Monty python

Old grey whistle

fawlty towers

Steptoe and son still makes me laugh,i feel they all had a cult following there were plenty of T-shirts printed for the whistle test anyway.

Peteff - 28/3/05 at 11:13 AM

Not exactly cult stuff though were they? Hardcastle and McCormack, come on. He was in Dead Man Weds with Johnny Vegas and Dave Spikey not long back. The BBC are running a survey to find the best decade in television at the moment. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/tvontrial/
Get on there and vote. edit:- Sorry that was the Dempsey and Makepeace bloke, shows how memorable they were though.

My necklase isnt gold so un-chav like..

Spyderman - 28/3/05 at 06:05 PM

It was Mrs Peel!

Steed always refered to her as "Mrs Peel" in the Avengers.
Sad or what?

It is a very close call between Dianna Rigg and Alexandra Bastedo to a pre-pubescant youth! (Well I was at the time!)

Terry

Between Dianna Rigg and Alexandra Bastedo would be a very tough choice.
For me it was Servilan, ---- Mind you also had a thing about the girl in Adam Adamant and Sarah Jane in Dr Who

Anouska Hemple was another --- what was she in ?

stephen_gusterson - 28/3/05 at 07:40 PM

TISWAS!!!!

robinbastd - 28/3/05 at 09:29 PM

None of the above, well apart from Dr Who - but only if it had Daleks in.

My favourite was "Survivors" c1975/77
I don't ever remember the series being repeated which is odd for a BBC production.

MikeRJ - 28/3/05 at 10:02 PM

Anyone seen "Saphire and Steel" recently? It used to scare me when I was a litl'un but I saw it the other day and it has to be the worst acting I have ever seen, and as for the special effects....shockingly bad.

The Avengers is still ace though, even Blakes Seven's good in a cheesey sort of way.

you forgot the best ever, hitch hikers guide to the galaxy.
I had the books for Christmas. All 5 in the trilogy .

I feel a little on the young side to be posting in this thread as I don't know have of who/what you're talking about.

It's red dwarf for me.

everybody's dead dave, dave everybody's dead. they're all dead dave, everybody.

thekafer - 31/3/05 at 03:24 AM

They show Red Dwarf on PBS here. My son and I really like it, as well as "People Like US", "Coupling"(with Sara Alexander) and of course "The Prisoner" and "Hitchhikers guide"....
