Swimbo conned me into the renovation of the swamp...er bathroom. So we are now at the stage fitting all the bits back into this new shell. Now we are
building a wash stand with drop in sink. Ive go a rough idea what height the dam thing must be but I measure twice install once. So anyone gota
height for the stand to the top of rim of the sink that would be handy....metric please as old money itchys make me scratchy my head
Thinks it the same as kitchen sinks.....
thanks guys
the top rim of my downstairs loo washbasin is exactly 3ft from the ground.......

Ours is on a pedestal and it gives me backache sometimes . If I was doing one again I'd make it fit us rather than a standard. 900mm seems about right.
cheers pete
Is it Beaky?
Why Peckerhead.....of course.
kitchen worktops tend to be 910mm off the ground.
Just to throw the cat among the pigeons.....(only joking beaky)
Mines only 810 - wouldn't want it much higher than 850.

Fixed at that height by the pedestal really, but yes, ideally you'd have it a bit higher.
My basin is 830mm to tap mounting level and find it perfect for me. Mine is wall mounted with no pedestal. My old one was lower with pedestal and made
my backache too....

Countertops around sinks in bathrooms are 30" high and in kitchens they are 36" high - most men, however, really appreciate the 36"
height also being used in the bathrooms (less bending over to wash up after a hard day in the shop).
In our last house, we made-over the bathroom as soon as we bought the place. I picked up a cheap 30" high cabinet but installed it on 4" x
4" x 6" high lathe-turned legs (kind of a ball foot effect).
mangogrooveworkshop, is that a kittyhawk?
meowl........
Washand basin sorted. pics when finnished
this is mine
This is the lightweight stripped down 'locost' route. Im thinking of upgrading it with a nice built in cuboard underneath, and perhaps a
wide track soap tray, and lightened matching polished alu toilt roll holder.
at the moment its the minimalist look...... if i were an artist it could go for several grand
