I'm after a waterproof box to mount on an outside wall to house a couple of plug sockets.
I do not want waterproof plug sockets because what I am plugging in is a large timer, and the lid will not close.
It's not a timer exactly, its the control sensor box for our remote control lights for our lounge & conservatory
I've searched eBay, but probably for the wrong thing, I want basically a box to screw to the outside wall, then I can mount a couple of sockets
inside of that, if you get me?
Any suggestions?
adaptable box is what you want!!...

Ahhh you gentleman, thank you very much...
Always takes someone else to come out with the correct terminology lol
Both are ideal, the misses has just said she likes the bigger one with the 4 gang in it for when she wants more lights in the garden.
Thanks chaps, helpful as always!
You want one of the time guard type ones lower down the page if you need regular access or to remove the plugs at any time.

(Qualified electrical tester/inspector, part p etc etc)
Cheers Jim for your knowledge, very handy to know...
You're right, easy access is paramount really, as I know I won't want to have to have a screw driver set out all the time if ever I want to
plug in, unplug etc.
Just measured the depth of my 4 gang, the remote control receiver, and the plug on the back, and it's 102mm... Nice to see the depth of this box
is 107mm...
Anything else I need to be aware of do reckon?... You watch, I'll buy it, install it... And the remote control won't work because
they're in a metal box lol
Read it Olz, read it! It's plastic box! lol
Just read it says the internal clearance is 73mm, where does it mean?
I would have thought the 73mm will be from the socket face. As the box is 107mm deep.
Hope this helps.
Jim
Cheers Jim, I bought a Timeguard one from eBay thanks to your knowledge and input.
I went for the one that is mounted horizontally rather than vertically, with the clips...
Cheers again for your help!
