In my finite wisdom I decided to change the door deal on our Whirlpool AWM 1150. The instructiond told me to remove the rear panel and then the soap
dispenser. This i did and have fitted a new door seal. No problems there until I realise that I didn't take any pics of the
"mechanism" on top of the soap dispenser before I dismantled it.
Now I have a spring and a "pointer" (the red bit) which is supposed to be connected to a wire which is connected to the main control (wash
program selector). I know they were together when I started and that the red pointer was connected to the cable but I can't get it back together

Anyone got any diagrams etc to show me how it should go back together?? HELP!!!!!!
Should just be a few minutes fiddling! The mechanism is to change which tub the water is washed into, ie for a prewash. The red part goes over the twiddly bit, then its just a case of working out which end the spring goes on, and which the cable. Turning the control knob will show you what travel there is on the cable, which tells you the approximate position of the arms.
Apparently we have a washing machine!
I would not know how to open the door, assuming i found out were it is
Thanks Joel
This has to be a guess but there are only four ways the red bit can be inserted into into the off white rotaty bit top left. I would guess cable to
left and spring to right. The rotational position is wrong but paint is a bit limited.

and??fixed it??
Not yet
saw the subject line and thought 'just ask the misses you numpty'. Seriously it my be worth asking her as she'll have a different way of thinking to you. Oh, whats all this pre wash business, don't you just find 40 and fastest spin possible like most people?
the annoying thing is you can change those seals through the door aperture and the lid off
dustys diagram looks good to me. Does the cable wrap around the groove on the red part somehow?
found a half picture,http://obrazki.elektroda.net/20_1218722628.jpg,cheers

Thanks guys - that is really amazing
Strangely I did ask SWMBO and she sugested that it went somewhere there (the white post controls where the water is directed within the soap
dispenser). Just seen the latest photos so hope to have it all back together this evening.
Anyone got any suggestions for flushing out a washing machine that seems to be filled with sludge??
Dr Beckmann
That's what I said apart from the limitations of paint which wouldn't let me rotate it to where I wanted it. Oh Ye of little faith.

As above also unless you are in a very hard water area only use 1/2 the ammount of powder they reccomend, you may find most of the sludge is whats left from the powder.
thanks for the continued assistance - in the end I used bleach and gave it a couple of hot washes to rinse it through. Was a bit worried afyter the first one as the drum was full of bubbles. Seems to be working ok now
