Cheap Vinyl Plotters
greggors84 - 3/4/11 at 04:18 PM

Does anyone have any experience of cheap vinyl plotters? Ones like this;

PERFECT PROFESSIONAL VINYL CUTTER/CUTTING PLOTTER 710MM on eBay (end time 03-Apr-11 19:46:25 BST)

Are they ok for low volume sticker producing or are they a load of rubbish?

Thinking about getting one but not sure if the resolution would be up to the job. Is there any chance I could send send some bits over for you to print out. Obviously I would give you the money for the cost of the vinyl and postage.

Which make/model do you have?

Thanks

Mine is the same as the link, from the same seller as well if i remember right his names Andy very helpful guy.

Not sure what you mean by resolution? it does struggle to cut anything really small though especially small Tex.
Will having a go with a few bits for you if you want, if the program im using will recognize them.

There is some small detail on the stickers we usually get done, what would you say is the minimum size it will happily cut. What format does the software need and ill sort out an image.

Thanks

If you're interested in a cutter I'm considering selling my Creation P-Cut 630 USB. A very reputable machine, industry standard for a long time before the cheapo Chinese ones came about.

It's in perfect working order and good cosmetic condition, I just don't get the amount of use out of it that I intended. It'd come with a stand and half a dozen rolls of vinyl, application tape, squeegies, etc.

Make me an offer!

Cheers, Chris

It doesn't seem to like tex any smaller than about 8mm - 10 mm as it cuts it picks the letters out with the cutter,
suppose this could be down to various things, have no experience of others so are they all like that?

I'm at work so just done a quick google, should be able to open AI and EPS file formats.
