I love volvos but...
Benzine - 24/8/10 at 09:48 AM

I've had so many experiences on the road of new volvos (last few years) being driven by total ****s. Speeding, swearing, aggressive and/or dangerous driving. Is it just me?

Couple of examples of the top of my head (2 of many): I was on the motorway the other day and someone wanted to join from a slip road, I checked my mirrors and nothing for a long way back, I indicated and moved into the other lane to let the guy on the slip road join, then a new volvo comes up behind me at 100000000 mph and starts flashing like mad, after I pull over he flies past and starts flipping hand signals at me. What a poohead. And just now I've been driving on country roads and a new volvo was overtaking everyone, sometimes round near blind corners.

Old volvos, on the other hand, are driven by sterling, handsome individuals. Fact.

There are just as many pillocks driving around in other cars (ones of German manufacture seem to be popular).

I saw this notice in the rear window of an old Volvo 240 estate...

"Actually - I do own the road"

I dont subscribe to the 'types of drivers/types of cars' ive seen shit/agresive/bad drving in just about anything from bmws to busses, range rovers to reliants.

PS I drive an 2009 Volvo C30

Agree with above, its usually people who drive around the west bromwich area that I find drive like t**ts.

r1_pete - 24/8/10 at 10:22 AM

Some people think its fashionable to live on their nerves, show how stressed they are, it adds to a sense of self importance.

Its so un-cool, just let them by, yawn at them, or get a passenger to give them a clap, or some other seen it all before gesture.......

blakep82 - 24/8/10 at 10:24 AM

lol busses yes! currently working with an ex bus driver, asked him why busses seem to keep pulling out on me. said its beause the drivers will claim for all sorts of money, and it will ALWAYS go down as my fault. never mind the fact i might be dead since the bus will always come out better
says that he hears about drivers talking about doing it on purpose all the time.

hot blonde bird in a mx5 the other night. sat ocnstantly in the fast line on a completely empty motorway, so i went up behind her to overtake. she didn't move. gave a quick flash of the lights to let her know i wanted by. she was doing 69, i wanted to 70 (honest) so she moves out the way, and goes up to 100so i couldn't go by. cheeky little hot, sexy... er...

Strontium Dog - 24/8/10 at 10:24 AM

Mercs. Driven by incompetent gin swilling asses that make the rules so think they can break them!.

turbodisplay - 24/8/10 at 10:33 AM

Subarus are a classic example.

Have yet to see one driven sensibly by a sub 30 male.

Audi drivers rock. Very cool big black A4 hassled me in the 7 on roundabout slip road in Plymouth yesterday and overtook at the last moment to enter the roundabout at about 30mph. Unfortunately there were a dozen vehicles just released by the lights bearing down on him and he ended up with smoking squeeling tyres, sideways in front of me having only just stopped in time. I was wetting myself laughing at him but he must have had a very stiff neck and he kept looking straight ahead.

That's my favourite, when a driver knows he/she's been a tw8t and then has to pull up next to you and do the "straight ahead stare".

There's a bloke local to me with a very swanky Audi S4. Granted it sounds a treat (V8) when he really boots it and the lack of scrabble due to AWD is very impressive, but he's a total bell end and can't drive normally, ever, anywhere

Sexy arse, 55mpg and £30 road tax, thats why!

Dangle_kt - 24/8/10 at 12:04 PM

I live in Liverpool, and volvo s50's are the choice of the young chav these days.

I dont know quite why, but every one I see is driven by some form of ape, usually with seat reclined right back, and a bevy of equally intelligent passengers leering out the windows.

I notice it as I used to drive v50 as my company car, and quite liked it, so got in the habot of looking for them.

I can only imagine it is cheaper insurance due to normal demographic of driver being low risk?

ReMan - 24/8/10 at 12:13 PM

There is certainly a (right or wrong)opinion of the "type" of peoples that drive
Volvo
BMW
Subaru (Imprezza)
Add further makes here

Opinion is often confirmed with raised expectation
