This is a scan of a genuine enquiry which we received regarding a client's house.
Top quality bit of letter writing, I would suggest.
We all make a bit of a hash of things sometimes, but come on.

At least it doesn't contain my pet hate - 'dose'
Hey, that's nothing. One of my peeps told me he'd been to the hospital and had a Bavarian Enema
Could be worse! At least it only leaks when it rains!
Perhaps all the funges had roted his brane?
there spelling and gramar is pawe
It isn't the worst I've seen by a long way though
Or perhaps Eengleesh is not their first language.

It can happen to anyone - this is an extract from a job advert that was posted on our company's internal website yesterday:
Langugae
This is from an international company with well over 1000 employees, most of whom are graduates... (and I'm not naming the company!).

One that I often notice is the misuse of 'loose'
eg. "That mod will make the engine 'loose' power"
Then there are the classic common errors, Your / You’re, Its / It’s, Two / To / Too,
....oh and apostrophes all over the place

The number of CV's I've seen in the last couple of years with such grammar and text speak is appalling....

i got involved with my first bit of recruitment this year. the number of applicants with poor english and typos for a 30k plus job is shocking. made all the more funny however when they go on to tell you they have "good attention to detail" or cringingly describe in the interview how their biggest weakness is being too much of a perfectionist!

If I might just add at this point.
With all due apologies to those who endure any form of dsylexia. I'm sure that life is made all the more difficult when reading or writing is a
genuine struggle.
In the case above, I suspect the accused is just not trying very hard.
EDITED
To correct spelling mistake...
[Edited on 4/8/10 by zilspeed]
Agreed - my nephew has dyslexia, and if he has to produce an important document he first runs the speeling/grandma* checker, then passes it over to
another member of his family for a final proof-read.
* intentional mistake - in cass you're wondering
some people do realy struggle with dsylexia, but these days every little thing has to be explained by some sort of medical condition
they told me I had some mild for of something or other like that - but I just think I'm crap at writing
[Edited on 4/8/2010 by mcerd1]
My favourite is when they write "definately" then spell check and it changes it to "defiantly" as in, "I would defiantly not do it like that"

gardun . and my ubseshun startid ther my fasunashun with predators. but never took falconry sereusly til i wos 15 wen i had my 1st gos thats wen i go

Worrying insn't it
You do have to be careful when criticising someone's spelling on a forum though...
I've seen one of those humorous 'natural laws' which states that "Any post that criticises another's spelling mistakes will
itself contain at least one spelling mistake."
I think that it's the general use of the internet that has shown up many people as being quite incapable of spelling and writing clearly. Years
ago it was never a problem, people who were perfectly capable of earning a decent living never actually had to write anything so their 'little
problem' was never noticed.
I used it work in sales, and lots of blokes came in to buy stuff that I couldn't afford myself, (by a BIG margin) but they had to get their wives
to write the cheque.
Nowadays anybody who wants to participate fully in modern life has to type stuff into computers, and as the necessity to do that increases, so it
seems that the standard of teaching in schools decreases.
I would never think less of someone who couldn't spell, but I don't like it when people haven't made any kind of effort to make their
stuff easy to read.
