The misses and I have decided to do a kitchen rennovation ourselves. We're about done, and here are some before and after pictures.

Has anyone every done a project of this size before and does it get any better? Its been rather hard to live without a kitchen.
Gas fire to log burner soon for me....
My parents have redone two doer-uppers they bought in france (with four kitchens and seven bathrooms between them) and yes its gets better - probably
better off taking a weeks holiday off work to get it done in one go though.
Things we found helped were small/cheap electric fryingpans and pots and lots of bbq's. Keep going, think how happy you'll be when
you've finished!
Which is the before and which is the after?
my kitchen is on the to-do list, along with the bathroom, heating and all the wiring

Our bathroom is next on the list, but its not being done for quite a while. I'm planning to do most of the work for that one too. After a nice
long holiday, possibly back to Canada.
The ceiling was the biggest job raising it from 7 ft to 8 ft. Drywall dust everywhere and no insulation made for fun temperature swings in the house.
i have done two kitchens and a bathroom. trick is to get the basics in first then do the rest
Joelip does that every day for a living
Now you know why he is such a crazy guy....
Hate doing kitchens and bathrooms.....money pits and it gets me when you see the young ones slam the doors and cut food on the worktops leaving
scores. Then drop cups on the floor cracking those very expensive we must have italian tiles.........
and yes ive got
one to redo......10 years since it last got done......
Done all the rooms in the house, except the kitchen...
I do a lot of this sort of work Try get your base layers in first so worktop on Leaving protective film on then work upwards so you have a base... and what you want to hear it does get better
I've done several kitchens...
When i did mine, i did the upper cupboards first, so we still have everything connected below.
Then just left the cooker in place and did the sink in part in one day.
Minimal hassle !
nice job so far. i am assuming you have got hold of a smaller fridge
