well peeps, i know landies can tow 3.5 tonnes, and i know my vivaro can do 2. But does anyone know another sub 3.5 tonne van or car that can pull 3.5
tonnes, or at least more than expected? My jeep can do 2.6 apparently.
Basically the more i can pull, the fewer trips i need make to the tip!
I know about b+e, so no dire warnings about licenses please!
what about a Hummer?
Must have some use!
hummer towing capacity
Probably not very relevant, b ut it does direct to a chart that might help (even though it is US and not Leeds based!).

My Rangy pulled three tonnes with no bother!!
24mpg with empty trailer. 22mpg with trailer and over two tonnes sat on it! Go figure.........
you thought about an f series pickup, f250 maybe
VW Toureag.... tows a jumbo jet?
i had a transit 150/330 ex RAC, that could if empty tow 3.5tonne, same as a 190/350, also a delica/shogun can tow 3.3tonnes, looking for a new tow
vehicle to tow with, but i want power, like a v8 or big power diesel.
so far i'm thinking
ford galaxy 4x4 v6 but not sure what the 4x4 can tow
shogun 3.5 24v
rangerover/disco v8i
landcruiser.
3.5 tonnes cheap as chips to buy and 23 MPG towing and go anywhere!
I love my Trooper 3.1TD
bighorn side

Check the plate on the vehicle and the trailer.
I got cought at SVA with a single wheel Transit that had a train weight over.
The trailer was a huge plant trailer so had loads of capacity with a little 7 on the back but the Transit was plated to tow less weight than my V6
Galaxy
I'm pretty sure the Nissan Navara is 3000kg
Vauxhall monarao could probably tow a planet
Doubt therel be many sub 3.5 car/ vans which will tow 3.5 tonne. apart front pickups like navaras or yankee trucks.
My bmw 525tds will pull 2.2 tonnes. Iv had a mk3 polo on the back and didnt even know it was there.

cheers chaps. Ive always like the trooper too so its either that or a disco.
Its very odd that my van couldnt tow the jeep but the jeep, with its wobbly tyres and soggy suspension, can.
Toyota landcruiser.
They can tow anything, come with a huge choice of engines and are better made than a disco/range rover.
This is what you need

If you check a classic RR handbook for towing limits and find the section referring to towing, I'm sure it mentioned 8 tonnes with linked braking
(pneumatic). I may be wrong of course.

Land-Rover had some sort of special dispensation.
