Found out why my carb drips - not the needle valve but the thin brasstube fitted to the float chamber has a split
see photo below - white line, highlighted with chalk, along left side of the brass tube.
split tube
how do I fix it? attempt to solder it up? heartshrink?
I doubt the tube is available spearately and it would be a reall bugger to press it in so anyone knows where I can pick up a float chamber?
mikuni Vm26, Kawasaki Z1000 A1, 1977.
... thing is, I spent ages dressing up the needle and valve seat and I'm sure that was fixed - ordered kit from US, fitted needle valve and seat
and no good -then remove float chamber, close off tube, put in petrol and blew into the hose = bubbles!!!! if only I had tried that earlier but
who would have thought it?!?!?!?!

What does the brass tube do?
I've got some ZX6 Mikunis I use for spares. Not sure if they have anything similar in them but I can have a look if you want.

It's an overflow tube for when the float fails I think. The Mikunis on a Divvy have the same sort of thing in the float bowl.
^^^ correct.
I doubt the ZX6r carbs will have same float bowl - there is at least 20 years between them.
soldering seems to be the way.
