It's the new Mercedes CLK GTR.
I suspect that they may be casings around the real silencer, maybe to reduce noise, but whatever they are, they are BIG!

but when you see it from the front it doesn't look right at all...

They dont look much bigger than my silencers
The rear silencers form part of the crumple zone hence being so large.
