I think its not such a good idea!

Why? Because there is some brilliant info on this forum, with the chat room there is a danger that something useful might be said and then the opportunity to save the good advice is missed.

It could also prove to split the site to a small click of mates.

in case anyone missed it being discussed in there, you cant post many symbols, ie ' for one, and several others. Best avoid all i guess!

It's a proper irc client and works over the web so is work firewall friendly for most people.

My friends use it and it works really well.
You'll need to set up an irc server on yer box though, probably.
