Tiger Cats - Opinions

Ones come up for sale s/h locally - I'm after a car for the old man (cos he keeps driving mine).

Any thoughts/opinions on this kit?

He wants a track day/Sunday drive car.

This one has full weather gear and a big valve headed, twin webered (all new) 2l pinto (155bhp) - built in 2000, he wants £6.5k for it.

Not my cup of tea since I saw the quality of some of the Tiger parts I ordered. That said they will supply screens/hoods etc which do are nice to have if you want to use the car all year round or not have to worry about rain etc. I still find it strange that MK have not been able to supply a screen for the Indy after selling so many.

Conrod is looking for a job. Get him to build you a car? At this rate he'll have finished mine for me before I get a look in!

The other day I was in the house waiting for him to come over. About an hour late he knocks on the door requesting a tea - cheeky sod had been out working on my car without me!!

Is it worth £6500 if you're going to swap the engine?. Do you really think he'll stick with the pinto engine Jasper?

yours, Pete.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Cheers for the feedback chaps, the car looks very clean in the pics, so I'll take a look tomorrow.

The idea is he has the pinto so he'a always behind me!

I like the westie, but I really haven't got the time or inclination to finish another build yet, I'll still got work to do on mine. Rescued attachment top side.JPG

problem IMHO with the Cat is the suspension...
It uses the complete rear end off the sierra so is very heavy, the front end with the inboard shocks is a little ugly for my liking.

Where did you take the picture from, out the bedroom window? You laughed at Chris for having some wheels like that, somebody did anyway (very 70's five spoke wheels). It should be o.k. for an old blokes car but why not get the unfinished car and let him finish it, should keep him out of your hair for a bit Jasper.

yours, Pete.

My old man hasn't done any mechanics since he was about 20, and he doesn't intend to start now. A bit of basic maintenance is all we can hope for. And quite frankly I don't have the time or inclination to build one for him. Now maybe if I can get him into the GT40 or Strassos then I'll gladly 'help' him to build one!

''Jasper

Not exactly sure what you mean by this, I know you don't like your Avon build, but this is a different car, isn't it? And it's already built and on the road.

The old chap is seventy next year, so doesn't need bike or V8 power, but something not to slow and reasonably comfortable....

I'm gessing that's not what you'd call an "unbiased opinion"?

Cheers
