Finally got the Stylus on the rollers - 300bhp!!!

So after saving hard I finally got to take the Stylus up to be tuned, and after 2 hours on the rolling road in the hands of a seriously good tuner, it now makes 300bhp and even more impressively 340ftlbs of torque, it started out at 217bhp.

He's set me up with two boost levels, as on full boost, about 16psi, it's just insane. Spins the wheels up in second in the dry, and keeps pulling hard till I run out or road or bottle.

It has really smooth delivery though, from low down the revs, helped by the fact it's a stock turbo and spools fast.

All this for around £2k, and should be totally reliable.

As you can see on the chart it dips a bit at about 4krpm as the actuator can't hold the boost, a £60 replacement would see a completely smooth curve.

Off to Cornwall in it tomorrow, lets hope I get it back in one piece Rescued attachment Picture or Video 001.jpg

Wow, thats some impressive power (the torque is mental) I bet you end up enjoying it so much, you'll have to fill it up 6 times on the way to Cornwall

SWIMBO isn't coming now, needs to stay home, so I get to take the car on my own - excellent!!

Engine is standard apart from 555 injectors, cooler plugs and better airfilter, FMIC and exhaust. The tuner reckoned with a larger turbo I would be up around 380bhp and god knows how much torque, but there's no chance of that happening, it's mental enough as it is.

You can get quite a bit more too if you want from what I've heard. I had an aquaintance who had a 7 with one of those. Your petrol bill goes up significantly though!!

I have a CA18DET that I plan to pretty much leave alone for the beginning, but it's a loony engine too.

Just got back from Cornwal in one piece, a bit damp but the car was near faultless. Turned the boost down on the way down as it was too knackering to drive, got respect from a R1 rider who couldn't get past me for a few miles

Took a Hungarian bloke from the pub I was staying in for a ride, he said it had been the best day of his life I think he might have been a bit pissed ....

Got over 25mpg which I was pleased with as well.
