Liam,
When we first met at some show or other, I thought who's this kid think he is buying HUGE spanners! The idea of a V6 4WD Locost thing will never
get off the ground!
I'm eating my words as I type, and am seriously impressed and not a little jelous of your efforts.
Anyway enough of this praise, bring beer and meat to Stoneleigh (and more pics) and get stuck into taking the wee out of our 'book'
Locosts!

Liam,
Have you got a website sorted out yet?

Website under construction. Help greatfully received as I don't really know what I'm doing!

Ummmm, well kind of...
My site
Prepared to be unimpressed. Just sort of learning Frontpage a bit and trying out advanced features like 'menus' and
'pictures'. I ought to get some actual content on there soon.

Wow, looks very nice!
I have a question though. Does your steering bind up at all when the front wheels are off the ground? I just noticed the near 90 degree angle your
steering shaft is on (could be the angle of the pic though).
I like your front suspension set up too, it will be a nice clean look with the bodywork on.
Best thing to do for a build....

Just one thing that I want to ask about. I though Maxi ball joints were designed to run in tension not compression, will they run ok the wrong way
round? I was planning on using Alfa bottom joints in the same position, but if the Maxi joints are ok I might use them instead.

The front two ujs have about 30 degrees each on them and are phased (pretty much) to cancel out each other's non-uniform velocity. Works
surprisingly well and there's no play even with four ujs. Feels like anyone elses steering really.

Hope so! I figured since they can handle running in tension without being pulled to bits that they are 'bitchin', to use the correct
engineering terminology. They aren't floating/sprung or anything - essentially a big spherical bearing and should run in compression fine.
Dont have any nasty bending loads on threaded shanks that standard transit joints would have in this application (that is using the top joint to carry
suspension loads). Having said that my mate did inboard like mine using transit joints and they seemed to take it OK. Didn't do many miles
though before selling it so not conclusive. I didn't like the idea of putting those kind of loads on a track rod end though.

In your Rear IRS pics in you archive, that is an interesting use of Drill bits in the bushs, not much shear strength in a drill bit mate.
Only joking, really nice car, hope it goes well, and would be interested in seeing it finished.
