i think the argument should really stem from which type of CEC you have .

i mean who can realistically buy a donor with the potential for 250 hp for £100 and build the car from it .

i know i can !

Thanks Loco R1, if you are going to the pod anytime, give me a shout, i wouldnt mind seeing what mine will actually do in a straight line. In all seriousness, i think i would struggle with low 12s. What BHP is yours putting out?

Why is it that the BEC brigade always have to try and start an argument over whose car is the best. ?

Anyone might get the impression that they have an inferiority complex over the size of the engine.

HAHA!

I love winding you guys up.

My point is the same as last time.

You CEC boys insist on ripping into BEC cars, but we DO NOT do it to you. I am just proving a point.

How about you guys lay off the BEC bashing and start promoting the virtues of your choices rather than decrying others.

RANT OVER. LETS HUG!

I'll change my avatar back in a bit, but before I do I will leave my creation for posterity!

Mine should be able to
Here is a similar car running 11.9 ET I think it was.

I looked into BEC but figured it would cost more, be less reliable and not keep up to my friends in their V8 cars.
If I built a stripped down track car I would go BEC I think.
Cheers.

How about a proper race to settle this? Not your normal race. Do it in reverse

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

BEC's might take a bit of a knock when IVA comes in due to requiring a reverse gear. Suddenly adds quite an expense.

Lets face it, if you want a track car or one for quick sunday morning blats a BEC is the way to go.

If you want something for cruising and longer journeys, road use and with higher reliability go CEC.

Any of you BEC boys fancy coming down to spain in your cars with me next year?

David

Wanna bet?

Besides, I've yet to see a locost with what I would call a "big engine". At 3.8L mine is the smallest engine I've had in one of my fun cars. Before that I guess the smallest would be a 5.8L. That being said, this is the smallest/lightest car I've built so far.
Cheers.

Doesn't the world record for highest speed in reverse belong to a Tiger BEC? 6 reverse gears?

The reason I have a CEC is that I need all that extra torque to carry around the sheet weight of my penis
