My trailer
Have made trailer that fits in my garage so i can drive car straight on it with no waist of space, what do you think to this idea

what size tubing have you used for your lengths? I used 50x50x3 box and it looks well overkill!

I like that. Do you have to turn the red bit over when it's in the garage to get the car on?

The frame detaches from the bed and rolls back i drop rear legs down and drive car on, can also jack front up and drop legs so i can work at a better
height as it used to give me bad back. A frame is made of 50 x50 and the bed is 40 x 40 the braces are 25 x 25.legs are also fully welded and can be
pegged like axle stands (so safe)

very tidy indeed. It annoy me how much effort i put into to stop it bending when i used 50mm tubes, and you've got away with less bracing and
40mm tubing!
Mine is a box trailer (though not covered yet), i can take the suspension off and leave it as a sort of mini car shed.
as an aside, how many inches do you have spare on each side once the car is on it? I only left 1 inch each side, and its far too tight.

Got it.
The whole thing tilts around the axle.
Friend of mine builts them like that as well, but a s a four wheeler with balance beam suspension. His are much wider than yours.
The upside however is that his design is super low and with the tilt facility, you can load a single seater on with no ramps.
Anyway - as others have already said. Very well done.

No problem but then again i drive a 4.0L jeep Cherokee so i don't even know its on the back. Hope i am right in saying that unless over 750 kg
in does not need to be braked.

you're right, provided the tow vehicle is over 1500kgs and also the manufacturers blurb allows it - my dads octavia 4x4 is apparently limited to
650kgs unbraked?

That is a brilliant trailer! I'm very impressed. Whats the overall cost and build time? If you dont mind me asking.
Seems a great idea, and perfect for storage which is a concern of mine.

Depends on the car as you say.
- I built our trailer to carry sailing gear and a pair (or three) of 14ft sailing boats.
- Its a 8*4 flatbed , but single axle unbraked sprung at a ton (500kg per suspention arm). Bought as a partial kit from peaktrailers.
The trailer itself weighs about 250kilos, so it tows really well empty or lightly loaded.
But you can still load it up with enough stuff and the boats.

Well anyone who's going to build one better do it before the trailer IVA comes in or that'll be more bureaucracy, paperwork and expense to

never understood this trailer iva thing, not as if they need to be registered like a car and as said who's to say when it was built, only thing
I can think of is they are refering to 38 ton and drawbar trailers,
