I have fitted locking wheel nuts to save my lovely alloy from being pinched (ok, not mega expensive but still nice enough to be nicked) and need some
idea of how/where to store the key.
It needs to be with the car and hidden somewhere non obvious.
Been thinking about drilling a hole in the key - it looks like a large nut - and iring it somewhere in the eninge bay.
Where and how do you keep yours?
Too big/heavy to keep on your keyring?
You'd always have it with you then.
Get one of those mega powerful little magnets and put it wherever you want?
Wherever you store the wheelbrace?
Have your ear pierced and hang it there ?
replies:
1. too big for key ring
2. was considering the magnet but not sure if I trust that
3. wheel brace is in the garage, hmmm think I've seen the flaw here although AA man will have brace
4. no priecings or tattoos.
I've got a customer who keeps it in the greenhouse because "nobody will look there"!!!

How about you disguise it as something else. For instance can you make it into a gear knob so you just unscrew and use?
Or even drill it through and slot it over the gearstick as a collar. Bolt it somewhere on the engine so it looks as though it should be there.
I've been thinking about this.
I'm bu**ered from all directions.
Nowhere that a magnet will stick....
and I need a set of five

my old peugeot 205 used to have a clip inside the glove box, just a wire clip that was attached to the top roof of the glove box, pulled it down, slip key on, the spring tension held it in place so it didn't rattle and was out of sight. Should be easy enough to make something up under your dash

Fit a "Key safe" somewhere hidden from view

i am going to leave mine at home with the spare wheel. Lol

I had mine in a small plastic casing stored under the dash. Case has drilled through the back and zip-tied in position.
Put a box under the bonnet somewhere or clip it up behind the dash if you can get up there.
