Smaller wheels means better acceleration doesnt it
He's going to be one lucky boy but, if it takes a couple of years to build, like the rest of them, i would plan something a little bigger

desyboy - 17/9/06 at 11:19 PM

hello mate
Thats why i wanted slightly bigger wheels to start with.

Just a thought, but arent wheelbarrow wheels about that size. Just looked in the Screwfix catalogue 360mm dia. pump ups, fit on a 25mm shaft, £12.99 each. At that price you could even fit a spare. atb Ray

does it really have to be that exact? He'll probably crash it in its first outing anyway.

Confused but excited. - 18/9/06 at 10:50 AM

Why not make a 6ft car with 360mm wheels?
Most real Locosts have anything from 13in to 15in wheels.
Don't enlarge your artwork to fit the wheel size. Make the car to fit the child.
Larger wheels make for a better ride.

Kinda wish i'd got married and did the family thing now....

waterproof mdf and the plans are from a company called Toylander (but havent brought their parts) true locost fashion made them or brought cheeper.
Two electric wheelchair motors are going to drive it ! (had to forget about petrol engine when our daughter found out how fast it was going to go!)
