Plenty of posts on here (and elsewhere) espousing the virtues of brand X over brand Y.
So image the scenario, your filthy stinking rich, already have a garage chock full of supercars, but decide to relieve the tedium of exotic
holidays, yachts and endless encounters with fit sultry women, to build the ultimate 7.
Who's parts bins are you going to raid? and why?
let me start writing down a list.
i'm going to start with a dax kit
2x busa engines, still rwd
xenon headlaps as mine are shite
my own motorway to speed on
will add more as i think about it later
Lotus Seven Series 3, massively strengthened live axle, Hart 420 engine, sequential Quaife transmission. Wide magnesium rims and hand-cut slicks.
Eddy
T45 chassis'd Dax Rush 4x4 with 600bhp cosworth motor...
sod the 7, it would be a top spec custom made ultima the high power v8 lump, 700bhp

I'm with Joel, except I'd have two: a GTR for when it's wet (with wets) and a Spyder for when it's dry - with slicks
And a two car transporter so I can take them both on trackdays but instean of changing tyres, I can change cars

those two car transporters kick ass! Dude at rockingham had a radical and an atom! Possibly a trailer too, but memory fails me. He was hiring them out though, not just some rich git showing off!
Sorry Joel but you already own two of those. The first one you scratch built, with the full time help of Ted Marlow and a team of ex F1 engineers.
The second you bought from your closest neighbour Michael Carrol, mainly because he kept waking you up on a Sunday morning tearing round the back
field in it. Remember this is the ultimate 7, not the Ultima 7

My ultimate seven?
Ummm, let me see:
Titanium chassis,Rorty designed suspension,
Carbon fibre body kit, or possibly hand beaten alloy.
POWERtec 3Ltr V8 ( 470bhp )
Custom Quaife four wheel drive transmission with six speed sequential box.
Foose wheels.
CustomChrome exhausts
Cobra Kevlar seats.
Oh yes, four bunny girls as pit crew.: D

Well!
I think it would have to be the engine and drive train from the bugati veron
titanium chasis engineered by adrian newey
alloys special made by Khan
Leather interior designed by robert pozzi
Nice paint job by dalaney&greigory similar to this years maclaren
front grill from an Audi RS6
I think i'll stop now
Mike
i would say a bec porsche 550 speedster but it is not a 7....so
in the second door of my garage, will be custom carbon fiber monocoque 7 ( alomst like an F1...) with something like a zx14 engine, bubt spinning ti
14krpm, just for the sound.. lihtess evverything possible, to try doing it in the 700-800 lbs ( around 350 kg) keep the shiniy carbon fiber on the
outside, 13 inch volk racing wheel( 3.5 kg) titanium everything...
350 kg with 250 hp engine... shoul pretty cool
if its to hard, just doing 400kg with a 400 hp powertec v8 should do the trick
maybe i'll turn out just buying a F1 factory but hey.... we are just dreaming and i haven't win lotery so.. dont blow my bubble
Wouldnt bother with a 7. I would lash out and buy a De Tomaso Pantera then a GT40 kit then become a become a brothel inspector.

My ultimate seven would be as light as possible
T45 chassis
magnesium wheels
alloy hubs and calipers
custom CF bodywork with slightly more curve to it than a standard seven
a custom made curved windscreen
and an engine that sounds lit a formula 1 V10. I want that noise. and 18000 RPM
I saw an Arial Atom on the road yesterday, and the driver was obviously having some fun - head down and going hell-for-leather.
If we're talking heaps of spare money and a sevenesque car, then their top-of-the-range job must be favourite.
David
As Joel points out, there are better ways to spend loads of money than on a seven.
I'd buy a fast Audi estate and a decent (but not top of the range) Caterham
carbon fibre tub for the passenger area with steel sub frames for the front and rear.
powertec v8 (the 2.6 one and work on it to rev a bit higher)
cf wheels
magnesium uprights and hubs and diff.
although its a bit pointless as the aerodynamics would still be brick like so maybe an aero body.
I'd buy a Tiger z100WR the one with two motor bike engines, but instead of using the blackbird or gsxr engines I'd put in two turbo'd busa engines and keep the 4wd setup - 1000bhp, in 450 Kg's worth of car = one hell of a lot of fun!!! Oli.

i'd want an ultra lightweight striker with a 10,000rpm 4 pot car derived engine tba that'd be fun maybe a 300bhp xe or 300+ duratec 2.5...

At last a job where you don't have to get up in the morning!
I'll second that idea.
But I'll keep the pit crew.
John.
