It was canned at about the time that the VX220 was launched due to lack of money. Similar projects have been promised since that could be described as a "big elise". Lotus will make a midsized 2 seater as soon as they get enough cash together.

Did it not evolve into the Europa

My mate had a deposit down on one - he was gutted when they canned it.

I remember it originally being called the M3? But I believe BMW got all shirty - so they changed it to the M250.

They seemed pretty keen - they sent propspectus's out and everything..

I like it - Elise on steroids - although to be fair the Noble M12 has capitalised on Lotus's slowness - although the Noble is a bit more pricey than the circa £30,000 that Lotus hinted at.
