Got my car out of the garrage on its own wheels for the first timw yesterday having got the adaptors made to conect the MK 1 escort steering arms to the toyota lie ace uprights . My quick tests of the bump steer situation reveals a defection of about 6mm of the line drawn using a laser at adistance of 4 ft but this is over a grater travel than the shocks will allow so accoring to my guestamate less than a degree over the operating travel so I'm quite happy with that .
The car sits level so I think I have fluked the right spring rates with my Motercycle shocks and the front ones (monoshocks from a GSX250) are on their softest setting . any way I include a couple of photos here to show of a bit Rescued attachment aug5 a.jpg

Well done mate. Who's make is the nose cone?

If u sit in traffic long enough the bbq grill will get hot enough to cook burgers on.

Iain,

Well done the local boy!!!! Mind you, you're not as old as I expected. Still you should be able to finish it by the time you're old enough for your license

Not sure I like the nosecone design but each to their own.

Hi folks with regaurd to the none cone , its all my own work based in the S1 lotus Seven . and the" BBQ " grill is made from a grill out of a toyota Carona cut down .but I may yet make aan Egg crate grill from strips of ally like the original . I tend to think that the nose will be more areodynamic with less drag than the conventional jobbies but we all know on a Seven that it is a moot point.Any way I am not trying to make a copy of a Catterham (yes I can say the word ) I had to make a pretty big bump on the bonnet to clear the top of the engine and the fuel injection Plenem but I think that it looks OK and will look even better with a bit more work and a coat of paint. The wind deflector is of course a mock up and will be replaced with one made from 7 mm Lexan . The rear arches were made by one of our local lads (P3-7)but I narrowed them by an inch and made them fit into the cockpit area and be snug to the rear panel .
