Looks like early MK wishbones on the front, whats the axle set up IRS like Indy or de-dion or escort like some earlier MK engineering Locosts.

chrism - 11/7/13 at 04:19 PM

Isnt that a Stuart Taylor/Aries Bonnet with the side vents moulded in.

bob - 11/7/13 at 04:21 PM

It does look like a Stuart taylor bonnet, which makes me think its an MK Engineering locostas the fibreglass would have fitted.

Defo not Mk if you ask me I would say Locost with Stuart Taylor bodywork on it

The tiny bit of the chassis you can see at the front is as my MK was, at the time MK were bending the tubes round areas like the footwells rather than sharp corners. Another bit was the bent v shaped tube infront of the radiator under the nose cone. The body work I'd say is irrelevant as my kit was bought initially with none, I only later bought some off them but could have got it from many suppliers. The front wishbones are exactly like mine were.

You'd need to take some photos of the chassis to correctly identify the maker. Saying that MK were nothing special at all and there are many just as good if not better than theirs.

From what I can see the car is an MK with different bodywork

Ask the seller if you can take some pictures with the bonnet and nosecone removed and also try to get a picture of teh rear axle setup.

brookie - 11/7/13 at 06:13 PM

Yeah if it is as complete as it looks seems a very good buy, wouldn't mind it myself tbh

Looks like a mk locost not a indy looking at the front wish bones the body work looks like Stuart Taylor the roll bar looks like a westfield copy
When i got my indy i believe mk had just about stopped making the locost that was in 2003/4

austin man - 12/7/13 at 10:03 PM

The early MK was the first design by Martin the originator of MK it will share the dimensions with the book chasis live axle probably. It will have cortina uprights, the wishbones were a little to weak for cars with engines other than the Kent engine and had a tendancy to bend if the engine was too heavy
