Tin top PS

Hi,

In need of some advice re PS pipe on my Vectra, have a leak on rusted pipe and at the moment cannot get a replacement plus it is a pain of a job to do on the road. So as a temp measure to cut pipe and replace the leaking part. Problem is I have no idea how to create the pipe! Are there companies out there that can do this (Essex) or can it be done with a DIY tool?
TIA

I recently had to replace a few PaS pipes on my polo… an obscure version and rhd spare pipes are no longer available.

My local Pirtek hydraulics centre was able to copy the old rusty pipes with a combination of off the shelf pieces and some custom bent stuff. Wasn’t cheap but not crazy when you look at some of the genuine vw parts prices.

Worth popping in in person to a store and asking them.

Pirtek was able to make up a short, flexi section when I split a pas pipe, can't remember how much it was now but it was cheaper than a new-second hand pipe .

As well as the suggestions above try your local air conditioning/chilled vehicle service company - the guys who service and repair commercial chilled vehicles.
I had an air con compressor overhauled by Vanchilla Service in Maidenhead (https://www.vanchilla.co.uk/) - great service and not that expensive

did the same on my old saab, replaced a fixed piece with a flexi.
would have been almost engine out to replace the fixed on, flexi took 1 hour

I would check out your local independent hydraulics specialist rather than Pirtek , from personal experience they are very expensive and give a poor service although that could just be our local branch?
