Toy car... what to buy?
Right, looking for some locost wisdom...
I have 4K that I want to use to buy a fun car... I will keep the car for 2-3 months before selling it on.
Have considered Alfa GTV 3.0 V6, Fiat Coupe 2.0 turbo... Possibly a (previously Cat d) Vx220...
Would be nice to have some practicality (IE, the ability to get a tent/bike in the back so I can do a euro road trip)... but want a fun car with a
good "kick"
Has to have a roof, turbo would be nice...
Anyone care to suggest anything?

~1997 Celica ST205? 280-300hp (with a few minor cheap tweaks) 4wd, pretty fun. Practical.

Depends on how old you want to go. I always fancied a 'british' convertible car to tour the continent -XK Jags can be had for under 4K now
(or fixed top/ XJS /XJ40 /XJ8). If thats not your thing 10-12 year old M3? At least with a BM you will be able to get bits for it in most european
countries if it breaks down - Older japanese cars like the mitsubishi 3000/toyota supra may not be so simple.
I'll be watching to see what other people suggest!
Regards
Hugh

Hmm, not so sure about old jags... not my style really...
Could pick up a reasonable 225hp TT coupe within budget.....
Really wanted something a bit "different" so you could feel the power...hmm.... could do with another couple of grand :p

Leon Cupra.... Although the top spec Cupra comes with the 225bhp that you've already experienced. It doesn't take much to lift it up a few
horses though.

If you want something really special, get a nissan stagea, it's the break version of a skyline (this one is a bit out of budget though)

Never seen one, but I really like that
A bit of a Q car perhaps?
most people wouldn't have a clue what it was capable of.

Its such a shame that the Jap interiors are so terrible.... The plastic finish just ruins the experience somehow
Having said that, that stagea isnt too bad!

MX5/Eunos MK1 s/c.
Cheap as chips, open or hard top, plenty of cars and spares about, rel. cheap to insure, up-grade engine, chassis, body and suspension for not much
cash - not that they really need it.
Total hoot to drive and especially good at Porker baiting.
Cheers, Pewe10
