In order of cheapness:
Thicker jumper + woolly hat
Woodburner running on old pallets / other free wood
Radiator plumbed into your CH system
Gas heater (mains)
Gas heater (propane bottle)
Electric
But be aware the gas options will make everything wet and go rusty unless it's well-ventilated, but then you lose half the heat

as an added bonus you can upset the neighbours as well
I'd love to give my imaginary friend a great big hug,

I've got our gas fired BBQ in the workshop at the moment which works well as a heater, and also doubles as a man-friendly air freshener if you
put some sausages on it.

"I've got our gas fired BBQ in the workshop"
That will be as effective at killing you as running the car in the garage! Be careful!
