Black wheels!
Discussing possible Christmas/Birthday (born on Xmas day) presents with my 5 year old son this afternoon.
He's after a "mote control car" which seems reasonable - he's even obtained a catalogue from the local ModelZone shop to help
him choose.
After looking through the catalogue extensively I have been expertly informed that he needs one with "Black wheels, because cars with Black
wheels are the fastest Daddy" followed by "can you get Black wheels for your car (Passat estate) Daddy".

Id agree if this was still the 80s, but as cars have moved on and evolved, so have wheels, black are currently the fastest. It's natures way
Your lad certainly is informed! However, my car has black wheels, not done a mile in over 8 years. Worth thinking about

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Black wheels are definitely faster. Most decent/reputable rolling roads have proven that a car fitted with black wheels has approximately 50 - 300
more horsepower. And that's a fact based on the stats that it works 60% of the time, every time...
Black wheels are closely followed by anthracite grey wheels, obviously made famous on fitting them to the launch of the hardest car of it's day,
the Volvo 850 T5 as seen below...
and then closely followed again, by white wheels...
And I guess if it was done in a retro way, then gold wheels might stand a chance of being a smidge in front of silver wheels...
Or prob a little more apt if describing retro! \/
I can't believe that I can't find an Oak Green MkII Golf with Gold BBS wheels on it in Google images!!! There used to 3 in my tiny
little town a few years ago!

It's red wheels you want.
When was the last time you saw a car with red wheels I hear you say and that is exactly my point. Red Wheels are so fast that you simply can't
see them. Black with a Red or Green stripe around the rim will get you close but Bright red is what you want. Why else would hot rods have them?

My MR2 had gold wheels...
Before paint
..still on there...
Just back from paintshop
...which I then got stripped and powder coated in black...
Top down shot on the drive
Does that make my car doubly fast???

Black wheels are almost universally grim. White, however, is the way forward and by far the fastest.
