What is it based on?
Is it the toureag platform or a T5 syncrho platform?
If its touraeg I suspect it will be a lot of fun!

No more Brokeback Mountain than any of it's rivals, I'd have expected VW to shy a away from the style that it's rivals use & be
a bit more European & subtle but it seems to be right among them.
My brother has it's ancestor, a VW Taro which is all Toyota Hi-lux apart from the badge (no bad thing!). I think it is VW's own work this
though.

I have! it was bloody awful! It cornered like a drunk staggering about and in the wet its even worse! oh and 19mpg! Although it was a company pickup
so driven accordingly! I have been reliable informed if I took it steady you can see 25+mpg! but wheres the fun in that!

the big Izuzu is the one to get if you can afford the running costs.
I quite like that thing apart from the stupid name but VW have sort of missed the party, Luxury pick ups are so five years ago (My Dad bought at the
peak and sold last year).

sure they are.
bet its better than the Toyota Hi-lux (NOT)
i love my vw but would never buy a 4x4 vw unless it was a r32
lets face it jeeps are on there way out fast what with the tax.

Well that will leave plenty cheap ones on the market for those of us who have a real use for one!
There will always be a market for real working machines, & that's what most of the fancy ones are just with a load of add-ons.

on a serious note, don't like the look of it much... i think they'd made it all a bit soft and euro. The way that most car manufacturers
seem to think making all of the front ends of all their cars look the same is more important than actually looking good....

Looks OK, but are they doing an estate version, like the Nissan Pathfinder is to the Navara.
I'm seriously considering a Pathfinder next. Gives me the flexibility to carry gear or people and means I can go straight to site, without
stopping to change vehicles.
Anyone got one? Anything to avoid or any other alternatives?

Done 45,000 miles in mine over the last 2 years, used as a private/company car, averages 34 MPG, very happy with it.
With any of these 'lifestyle pickups' you need to remember they are comemrcial vehicle derrived not car, so are a bit on the noisy side,
I've got the 165bhp upgrade, and while its not exactly sprightly, I spend more time overtaking than being overtaken!

Just my preference but if I had need of a pickup then the one posted previously on here would be appealing.
Chevrolet Silverado
My neighbour's Warrior, bought on a whim I think, mostly just sits on his drive. Can't say it's eve been used for any practical
uses.

Looks nice BUT take in the sticky stuff and the lack of off road tools will see that better Mitsubishi L200 come past pretty quick.
