New commuting vehicle

Something I have been meaning to do for a long time - get my bike licence sorted and get a bike.

Well, the CBT is booked for the end of the month and I have just got back from putting a deposit on this:

Ready to collect a few days after the CBT.

PLanning to run around on it for a year or so, then take my full test next year. Then the car will be up forsale to move on to the next project....

Well done by the way, it's nice to have a little picture of a motorbike on your license!!

Youd have been better buying the one on the right in the background....

Might need a few years experience before trusting yourself on such a machine though!

Good luck with the CBT. I did mine years ago and will be re-doing it this summer as it lapsed a long time ago. I plan on having my full license by the end of summer.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

That's a 125cc too isn't it, aren't they all 125s in those pics? Was outside the pub on Friday and a Yamaha R125 came past, never seen one bofore, that looked cool for a learner legal fair play!

Here, check this out! : R125 Pic

It looks like an MV Agusta F4S. If that's what bikes look like for 17 year olds these days, that's pretty impressive.

In my day it was DT's and RD's. If you were lucky enough to have the money or find one cheap, a TZR was THE thing to have (also Honda NSR or Suzuki RG, but they didn't have the same appeal).

R125 is impressive looking, and I bet there'll be plenty of them available from Copart as I imagine the rate at which they get dropped by novices and written off for a few scratches is pretty high!

In the pic it's a Hyosung GT125R I think, like this one: LINK

I agree though, gone are the DT 50 days, they all look super cool now fair play!

And a good FS1E is still worth more than a grand today

Its an AJS DD125. Parallel twin. Looks and feels like a much bigger bike. Learner legal, grand sum of 12bhp

This is the mk2, only difference is rear disc instead of drum:

http://www.ajsmotorcycles.co.uk/new_AJS/docs/Raptor/docs/DD125E-P-0.html

All the bikes in the shop are 125, and the red one is indeed a Hyosung. There are some really nice 125 bikes available now, mostly made in china, but the quality seems pretty good for what they cost. Bearing in mind a brand new DD125 is £1600 on the road (inc tax etc)!

Looking forward to getting my own bike
