which new car shall I choose?

ok my choice is:

Ferrari 360
Porsche 997 turbo
Lamborghini Gallardo

I already have an Audi R8 V10

I need to choose one of the above options, please give me your opinions and the pro's and con's for each.

Well your not looking new, new otherwise a 360 would not be on the list.

I think the 3 cars your looking at portray 3 different types of person.

Ferrari 360 - I have money, I just buy what ever people are jealous of and I probably dont know how to drive this thing as it was designed. As a car - Great classic supercar.

Porsche 997 turbo - I use my money wisely, not a material person. I bet I can drive this faster than a Ferrari owner. Im a real motorsport fan. As a car - I have a sort spot for these are are really nice. Shame they can be out classed by a GT3 or RS when at a race track.

Lamborghini Gallardo - The techie geeks choice. Fast and can be driven hard without trying. In my eyes they sound the best. Not pretensious and chose a Lambo becasue they like the car, not becasue they want people to think they are something special.

Have to agree with this! Whilst I love all of the other cars on the list, I'd say having the R8 is enough of a close comparison to the others to warrant a GT-R as a supercar killer for a fraction of the price. I always wanted an R34 Skyline GT-R V-spec, and this is newer and better.

Very much a "practical" car (if you ignore the MPG), but absolute beast of a motor.

I was lucky enough to drive all 3 last year on an experience day.

Unfortunately not for very long but I did conclude the 997 was the best by far.

The 360 was an F1 and the gear change was bobbins. Sounded awesome though and the bucket seats in that were the most comfortable I have ever sat in. Looks great. Suspect build quality in the cabin, it looked quite rough.

The Gallardo felt very special and sounded insane! Vision wasn't great and it felt heavy.

The 997 felt easy to drive at a decent speed and when I got over enthusiastic coming out of a corner and the back stepped out it was really easy to control. The track was damp by then and the balance, grip, power delivery were just fantastic. I could really see myself being able to drive one every day.

I guess it comes down to what it will be used for. Regular use the 997. For a Sunday blast then a manual 360. Second gear through tunnels all day then the Lambo!

Whatever you choose you are a lucky man and I want to be your new BFF

At the end of the day, you'll still get stuck in traffic with the rest of us, you can't carry anything, you'll get 20 mpg from a 14? gallon fuel tank so forever filling up. And you'll get stroppy grumpy gits running keys down the side. So, buy a decent motorbike and at least you'll beat the jams, get better mileage and better performance.

If you insist on a car, buy an Ultima.

Not to worry you both, but while the GTR is a phenomenal bargain in terms of purchase, it is a true supercar when it comes to running costs. Set of front pads and a fluid change? £750 please. Set of tyres, £2250 (and not high mileage either!). 6 month servicing, yeah why not...

At least the older R34's were a bit more sensible, unless you started on the slippery slope to 1000bhp....

My only decision for a lottery win car purchase would be whether to go for the standard Ultima GTR or the spyder. At least their big old American engines just need DIY spark plugs and filter change every so often.

I must add it is for a driving day, although I do have a bit extra time as a corporate day we get some extra time allowed in the cars. I already booked a driving session and tutor in the R8 and have to choose one more.

I have booked the 997 but wanted to get everyone's opinion.

unfortunately I do not own any of these OBVIOUSLY!!!
