I just met the bestist bobby ever
Jon Ison - 9/7/10 at 07:03 PM

Just replaced master cylinder on brakes after my little failure at Cadwell, few trial stops on drive all seems ok so thought quick blast down to roundabout and back to test them properly i knew it was a tad naughty as offside rear light cluster was missing but off I went in the direction I knew I would not need that indicator.

sods law who pulls up behind me at roundabout, yep in 1, traffic cop, signals me into layby I knew I was in the wrong, jumped out car to my horror I realise its still on slicks also.............

He runs a check, its taxed etc, my address is genuine and only 1 mile away, I hold my hands up tell him the truth why I'm out on road with it, turns out he's a genuine petrol head, explains in no uncertain terms I could be looking at 3 points per corner, then changes tack and we chin wag for 15 minutes about various cars before he tells me to get off home and dont come back.

Top bobby.

you lucky lucky man! you dont get that very often!

chris mason - 9/7/10 at 07:06 PM

Wow Jon, that's a very lucky escape

Back to the real question though, has the new master cylinder cured the problem? and are you coming out too play at Oulton in a shade under 4 weeks

Jon Ison - 9/7/10 at 07:09 PM

Yup, there spot on now, I knew about the lights but when I got out the car and saw the slicks..........

He was a bike track day fan and understood why I did what I did but made it clear I should not have done what I did.

Your very lucky, you would have lost your lisence and got an Ģ8K on the spot fine If he'd done you for the tyres.

Thats why a person is better than a camera, If there was a camera that could have spotted those things you'd have been reamed.

That proves that they are not all the same, there is an odd good one.

You're one lucky sod; if I had done that, he would be locking me up and throwing away the key.

I donīt know why all the fuzz....
Cops here donīt even know what slicks are....

richardh - 10/7/10 at 10:42 AM

if you get stopped by any type its best to be the traffic ones as they are generally good at applying common sense.
