MX5 engine mounts
When i acquired my part built in MX5 based roadster it had the round pancake type mounts. The history of this is like many, part built, sat around a
long while (like years) and i picked it up to turn into a track car.
the mounts look like they have seen better days and i wonder what people recommend ?

Hello again
I have used the original MX5 engine mounting blocks on my car with brackets I made from Steel plate.
You can see the RH one in this picture...

The LH engine mounting, made by my own fair hand!

They 'do-the-job' but as they were designed for a heavier car they are a bit stiff. They certainly don't provide the same level of
vibration isolation that you get in an ordinary car. But they work and are easy to get replacements.

I've done similar, although I reused the MX5 metal. I liked the idea of the engine mount being 'encased' so even if they sheared
they wouldn't go very far. (Before anyone comments, I tidied up the welding...)
