Equinox rear tub on a std Haynes rear frame?
I'm trial fitting my bodywork to try and get it right before painting my chassis. I've started with the rear tub which is a bit of a PITA
TBH!!
I've got it fitted nicely around the roll bar and it sits snugly on the top rail of the frame but is a good 1.5" off the bottom rail,
leaving a big gap. Are there revised frame dimensions for the Equinox tub? It meets the front of the bottom frame OK so I can secure it there and I
can fasten a couple of tabs on to secure it at the rear.
So should I be worried about this or just crack on and work around it?

I would form a strip of ally to follow the tub, and rivet to the tub and chassis rail.

Hi,
Hi had the same problem (Haynes roadster, Equinox rear tube). Here is the solution I've found : as said above, an ally strip (in my case, bolted
to the GRP rear tube and to rivnuts on the chassis round tube, as I made all my bodywork removable)

Wow, looks like yours was much worse than mine!! 
As it's only 1.5" I'm going to tack a strip of steel onto the bottom rail and put rivnuts in it and bolt up through the tub.

tidy fix though I think I would extend it forward to basiclly floor the whole underside as it looks like an area that would catch the wind under the
car

It might be because you have the top frame in. You don't need it with that rear tub it's quite capable of supporting itself on just the
bottom and side fixings.
My one fitted ok at the bottom except the curved corners but you don't necessarily need fixing in the corner anyway.
I can stand in the edge of my rear panel

Yep! But to be honest, it is very possible that my rear round tube RP1 is a bit shorter than it should be!

As far as I am aware, the top tube is only used if the tub is formed in ally, as Ben says the top tube isn't needed for a GRP tub.
This is my MK, just a short tube to support the front.

You're probably right, it's a very sturdy item 
However I don't want to remove the top rail as I've just spent ages making a roll bar that braces onto it, DOH!!

Thanks guys. I'm happy that I don't need to make any chassis / tub changes. A simple one piece ally floor can be added later to brace it
all up and keep the wind out
