Getting Rear Fog Vertical
Just wondering if anyone has an ingenious solution to get the rear fog lamp 90 degrees to the ground?
Ive tried a piece of mousemat rubber etc but it needs about 3/4" at the top
Thanks
Rich
edited to say Im using round 90mm type lights

How about using one of the fibreglass / plastic housings and trimming to suit?
Cheers,

When thinking outside the box doesn't work any more, it's time to build a new box

Fog light
If your light has the backing plate, as mine did , Its about 25mm thick.
I used a disc sander to sand the plate so that it supported the light from about 6mm at bottom to the full depth at the top. this give about the 3/4
inch difference required. I know not everyone has access to a sander but i'm sure you could do the same with a hacksaw if you are careful.

aha, thank you, I saw the bit in the SVA manual about 'must be square to the rear' but wasn't sure if that was just in the
horizontal plane or both horiz and vert.
Cheers.

I got a landie light from paddockspares for a few quid - I'll put a wooden wedge behind it & paint it black.
I'm also going for vinyl covered wood for the round bits by one's shoulder inside the wheel arch. I think wood's great for trim
bits, light strong & "carveable"
Actually now I think about it I might find a piece of plastic to make the wedge....

I take it it has to be the lamp that is at a correct 90 deg to the ground and not the lense, as there are many a production car with fog lamp lenses
at bizzarre angles.

Yeh its sometimes hard to tell with curved lenses but as near to perfect and they cant complain. If the holder is vertical, the lens no matter what
shape should be fine.
Dont confuse type approved production cars with single vehicle approval though, lots of things get changed on production cars after their model has
gone for type aproval hence why they bear little resemblance to SVA rules.

wooden wedges, pah, I spit on them ptuh!
ditch the placcy body and make the case out of ali, like this:
rear lamps fitted
base painted in black to match indicators .... and make sure you have a good look fom behind to be sure they are level
