How do i connect dials!!
Well im going to order my set of dials this week, im going for the smiths telemetrix range as they seem to be the best around for resonable prices!
Which do i require mechanical or electrical??
for Speedo & tacho, i have a type 9 box with a zetec engine can i use a origonal speedo cable! and what abot the tacho!
i was going to use the following 5, engine temp, voltage, tacho, speedo, fuel and and am i better using the oil temp or oil pressure guage! as my 6th
guage

Mechanical speedo calibrated for the car/tyres/box ratio and dif will be almost spot on, or get ya money back !! electric speedo, is down to you to
set up and get right, and I've heard they are a pain in the rear to do , saying thet though, you might need a 90 degree drive to get the
mechanical feed along the tunnel instead of into the drivers side of the tunnel . the rest will be easy to do, as for oil bits, can you get a split
gauge to do both ?? if not oil presure would be the one to go for, not temp
Hope this helps

Mechanical Speedo - you only get one chance to get tyres and diff right - if you change ratios you need a new speedo.
Electronic speedo - change your diff then just punch in a new number. I used ETB gauges, just ring them with your set up and they tell you the number
- easy also no cables, right angle drives, oil leaks etc.
Cheers

Sounds too easy, i checked ETB seem a bit expensive though, thats the only thing!!
Cause ive seen a set of telemextrix guages for £350 from europa 2 x100m and 4 x smaller ones from europa, unless sumone cant point me in the right
direction!
thanks, and would i have to redrill the sump to have both oil pressure and temp!
ive got the sump plug with the threaded section for the oil temp!

This is my dash with Telemetrix. All the gauges are electrical. 52mm for the little ones and 80mm for the bigger ones. I haven't tried it in the
car yet but it's all fairly straightforward for wiring up. I used a sandwich plate for oil press and temp and used a piece of ally pipe with a
threaded hole for the water temp sender.

voltmeter can only be electrical
water temp and oil pressure (in poreference to oil temp) can be either mechsanical or electrical. Electrical is easier to fit - plug 2 wires compare
to a long metal tube.
the mechinical pones usaully have the pointer pivot in the cnetre of the gauge which looks far better thant the elctrical one - pivot a 6 'o
'clock position; also mechnial ones display when there is no electrical power.

No, your sump isn't pressurised!
