Wiring Mini Wipers

Hi All,

I have acquired a mini wiper unit, well two in fact,
and wondered if anyone has sorted out which wire is which.

I would like to wire it to a Nova column switch,
(4 position, off, too slow, too fast and bloody hell).

The wires on the Mini motor are:-

top to bottom (see pic)

Black ( I assume earth i.e. neg)
Blue / green
Brown / green
Red / green
Green / orange

I'v done a search for "Mini wipers" and come up with usefull advice,
but not on which wire is what.

As you have by now spotted, electrics are not my strongpoint.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Paul G Rescued attachment wiper motor s.jpg

Back again.

Nothings easy is it.

I'v now found out why the bloke gave me two.

Cable 1 was stuck solid.
Motor 2 was u/s.

So, motor 1 & cable 2 it is then.

So,

with a neg onto terminal 1
and a pos onto terminal 4

another pos onto 5 gives me slow speed
or second pos onto 3 gives me fast speed.

But I dont get this terminal 2/park bit.

If I have 1 = neg
4 = pos
and join 3 & 5, I get nothing.

If I touch a pos onto 2, I get loads of sparks, not to mention burnt fingers.

HELP

p.s. Does anyone know where I can buy plasters on a Sunday night? Rescued attachment wiper cons s.jpg

Paul

I've got some more info that reads

Brown/Green = Park from switch pin 2

Orange/Green = Park and supply pin 4

I think they all work when plugged together, luckilly premier wiring stock the correct mini multi plug and once i had all wired up as one it worked fine.
I must admit it wouldnt work/park when i tried to wire it up individually though.

So I need to conect it to the column switch then?
And hope my Nova switch is the same type as a Sierra.

Thanks mate

well it worked for me when all connected up,but i had no joy with the park part when i had it on the bench.

If you do varius searches on here for wiper wiring or mini wipers i'm sure it will throw up some suggestions if needed.

The robin hood owners site is easier as it has tech tips sections, just a shame there cars are so poor. (incoming)
