Lucas bulb holder connection - help please
Hi All,
I'm a bit baffled by something. I'm using Lucas 488-type rear lamps on my car.
Bulb Holder
I can't work out how to properly connect wires to them. The positive connections look straightforward in that I expected 4.7mm Lucas bullets to
just clip in, but in more than half of the cases the ring-receptical is too big for the bullet.
The earth connection is even more puzzling. I could put a rivet in it I suppose but I guess there is a proper method?
TIA

Hi Tim
Brings back Memories
We used a brass, hollow ferrule with a flange on one end and a small hole in the other.
The cable was stripped back about 10 mm an pushed through the ferrule and the stripped portion folded back
Then when it was pushed into the lamp the rolled tab gripped the ferrule and cable
Dave
Had a search but can't find any
But these will do if you crimp the rings a bit

Gosh - this sounds a bit haphazard. No wonder classic electrics are problematic. I'll go for ring connectors riveted I think.
Also, Dave - am still planning to bring car over for 'finishing' but am about to move house so I'm saving pennies.
Thanks,
Tim

Use the proper connectors with silicone grease don't try anything else.
