Hazard Wiring (yes another thread)
Sorry to add to the hundreds of threads on this subject...
I am using a Fiesta wiring loom on my midi and I am using the original Fiesta Column stalks. However, I am not using the Hazard switch as it is where
I have mounted my Koso DB02R digidash (with the lights add on). I want to replace this switch with a dual pole (I think that is the right word) toggle
switch and use the indicator telltale on my digidash.
I have attached the original Fiesta wiring diagram and my proposed circuit using the toggle switch.
I am presuming that the live is switched on the flasher relay - the digidash warning gauges use a common earth so I plan to route the warning light
through that, whereas the fiesta unit routed the warning light via the earth from the relay. If it is the earth that the relay switches, then a small
replan me thinks....

Your L+R indicators are shorted together at the junction top right of you tell tale bulb. Try again
That is the tricky bit that is covered by a fancy (production) switch

You could fit diodes in the lines that are shorted though. That'd solve it.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

DOH! Should have spotted that.... Will look at diodes.
If I put the telltale 'inline' would that work?

You could actually put the telltale across the l and r indicators. It will earth through the non selected side bulb but due to the voltage drop across
the telltale the main indicator bulb will not light.
However you will still have the short problem. Diodes will be fine just make sure they can carry say 6 amps ( you only really need 3 and a bit) to be
on the safe side. That way they won't heat up much.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

that wold do it but a bit pricey. Something like this
diodes
soldered in line and heatshrink them.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.
