Hi
Sounds like the pick up for the ignition mod ?
Is it electronic ignition? If so have you got a haynes manual it should show the connections
Hope this helps

Is it a bosh dizzy?
Mine on my Pinto has three pins in a big plug. One to coil, one to ignition module and one to earth. Don't know if that's the same on the
CVH, but you might find that piece of useless information useful?

Yeh I have a haynes but it for my doner (1.8 Sierra) and not the engine I have now (1.6XR2-Fiesta).
Yes it is the dizzy with the electronic bit on it as one person said 1 for coil 1 for ignition and one earth but which is which?

What colours are the three wires?
Mine were:
Orange - Goes to ignition module.
Purple - Goes to ignition module.
Black - Goes to earth.
Sorry, none go to the coil - that connects to different wires from the ignition module (small black box).
Does that help?

Is it this one.
If so it's as follows:-
Distributor : Ford Fiesta 1989 / Escort 1300 1988 – Bosch 12 volt Electronic.
To fit twin webers a Side entry cap from Fiat Strada 85 Super -- Halfords Part HDC 515 -- Common Part XD134 is required.
Wiring connections (Numbers are in small print on connection plug):-
1 = Brown = Neg side of coil
2 = Blue = Earth
3 = Yellow = + 12 volt supply

CVH engine drives off the camshaft via a slot doesn't it, no skew gear on it? Sounds like you need the module from the 1.6 cvh as well. My mk4
Escort used the same one.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Sorted
This is how to do it, there are three wires ,
Brown -Earth
Green - side of Coil Before Suppressor
Black - 12v Ign Live .
If you break power to this wire usually to imobilise the vehicle ( ALRAM tip).
Found all this out from my mates fiesta which has just been converted to Injection ( Old dizzy wires were still there)
have a look at
