Handbrake levers all come with the switch. You don't need anything else but can put one on the dash if you want.
BTW, front M/C reservoir needs a test switch too.

maplin do microswitches which i find easy to mount and can be wired for push to make, or push to break/brake. standard size spade terminals aswell.

There is no requirement for a handbrake switch/light for SVA. The requirement is for a means of testing the low brake fluid warning light and circuit
from the drivers seat. This requires a switch which can be anywhere within reach which includes on the dash or fixed to the handbrake. Thus what looks
like a handbrake warning light on most tintops is actually a LBF test light.

I have also fitted a none standard handbrake. I have used a ford fiesta switch meant for the interior lights and normally located in the door.
SVC sell them for about £1
Although as above don't think it is required, I just thought I would be a handy reminder that the handbrake is on

is this 100% not needed for the handbrake then? i've a momentry switch, with built in warning light, wired up to come on at low level, or when
the switch is pressed. that enough to keep mr sva happy?

you don't need a swtich to presumably light up a lamp to show handbrake is on.
you need a means to show that the brake failure lamp is operating i.e. the bulb is working, from the driver's postion.
rather than fitting a separate switch to the dash, what locosters have done is to make use of the switch that comes with the donor handbrake for this
purpose.
I would hearily recommend you do the same rather than clutter the dashboard with another switch and worry about where to position it so that it
won't fail on the sharp edges/projections criteria.

No pic this time but we went the same route as Rob and bought a Generic interior light switch.
Actually I'm glad I don't have a pic, my handbrake never did get painted, just covered
Edit, I found a pic, google search showed that CBS sell the same ones that I used (It's
longer than the corsa one)

cool, where abouts did you get the switch/warning light from..? think it'd be easier for me to drop a switch in the dash rather than fit/set one
up on the handbrake seeing as it didn't come with one fitted..?
