Having problem getting my head around how to power the ign coil as i cannot make sense of the rapid fit loom i have .
I can turn over the eng , and as i switch off the ign i get a spark but not as the eng turns over , i guess this is because the ign barrel diverts all
the feed to the starter so how do i over come this problem . Ta Vin,
Following the road of enlightenment by other locostbuilders
you have it wired to the aux on the ignition not the ing, aux goes off whilst cranking the engine over where as the ign stays on.
If you are using a distributor with points that don't break (eg cos of really worn bit that follows the cam ) you would get this.
Its a new coil and dizzy ,so wot feed should i use from the ign to use . so wots the best way to wire up a ign curciut
If you're using Sierra ignition switch, the black/yellow is the feed to the coil (and all ignition controlled feeds) Yellow is ancillaries and most people don't bother with it.
thanks Mac so this black blue feed where should that go after. The fuse box relay or direct to the coil

Black/blue is feed to starter solenoid and also to the black/green on the ignition amplifier module for some reason that nobody has explained. I think
most people don't bother.
Ignition diag
So, not shown here is connection from 50 (black/blue) to starter solenoid This feed is powered only when you are turning key to start it.
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the Rapidfit loom so can't advise on which rapid fit wire connects to which ignition switch wire.
